Gosh this feels like FOREVER ago. I can’t believe we already flew past their 1 year anniversary. Mackenzie and Cesar were one of my first couples that approached me during the aftermath of the first quarantine to try to begin their planning process. They were set to get married at a ranch and had done tons and tons of planning. Just like many couples, their wedding plans were interrupted due to the pandemic. While I wasn’t with Mackenzie and Cesar during their initial planing process, I came on board to reimagine and plan their mini wedding. Keep in mind there is a difference between a micro wedding and mini wedding. This was often confused during the 2020 micro wedding surge. I wrote a separate blog on the difference between the two, but a micro wedding will include only a ceremony and possible toast/cocktail hour and a mini wedding is a condensed and smaller guest count than a normal wedding.

We began searching for estates and private properties that would allow a mini wedding of around 20 people. This was at the very end of the initial quarantine and we were able to find tons of families that wanted to extend their properties to couples that needed to replan. We eventually stumbled upon the estate in Temecula and they fell in love. It was a stunning 5 bed 4 bath home with a huge library, an acre of land, and a gorgeous pool. We knew that the pool area would make for a romantic cocktail hour and reception, while the front lawn would be a stunning ceremony location with the tree in the background.

Once the venue was secured, we began planning the remaining details. Securing a venue really is the biggest stressor because it will determine SO many things. Without a venue your date, city, final guest count/wedding size, design, needed vendors and additives, and so much more are all remaining and lingering questions. I highly recommend selecting a location before setting your heart on too many other details.

Going in, Mackenzie and Cesar already had a photographer and officiant and hiring me meant they then had planning and rentals covered. Remaining line items were selecting a baker, caterer, videographer, and florist. We also had to go through the design process.

The design for this wedding was surrounding the timeless and popular romantic look with hints of blush, ivory, gold, and greens. We selected the turned leg farm tables with an ivory chiffon runner that would puddle on the ground. The main centerpieces were floral arrangements from the uber talented Bethany Dircizi. We filled in this look with candlelight from votives and floating candles in hurricanes. Place settings included gold charger plates, clear glass china, clear glassware, and a two-toned flatware setting.

With the remaining design elements, we pulled the guest table elements and fit them to the space. We places floating candles, clear glass and gold rimmed lanterns, and votives around the space with loose florals and greens. Because this was a smaller wedding, the design wasn’t extensive. They wanted something intimate and romantic and that is exactly what we delivered.

There isn’t a whole lot to share about this day because it was really just super smooth. No major incidents, nothing went wrong, and all in all it was just a perfect evening.
