Sparks Fly When You’re Around

Boho- rust, terracotta, creams, burnt orange

The one where they had to gut an entire restaurant and re-furnish it plus have an entire wedding all in one day. Yup you read that right. We had to completely redo the reception space and it was not at all a tad bit stressful… BUT we did it and you guys… it was stunning!

That intro so doesn’t give away the fact that my husband and I are currently binge watching Friends together. I’ve seen it all the way through at least 6 times now and this is his first go around. I finally convinced him and dude is hooked!

This wedding definitely was the one where we had our work cut out for us. Yet again, we had to help another couple completely rethink their wedding day due to the unmentionable “C-word”. Hayley and Tyler had their wedding day fully planned and then unfortunately their date fell in one of those shutdown waves. They were able to keep their ceremony plans but their venue was not allowing any receptions so they were stuck with just having the ceremony at Tivoli and had to completely rethink their reception.

When they reached out, they were pretty positive that they were going to go with Finch in Wildomar for their reception, but the logistics were definitely interesting. Mainly because this cute spot definitely is it’s own vibe equipped with bold floral wallpaper, mismatched tables and chairs, and tons of eclectic decor. Don’t get me wrong, this spot is absolutely fun and so cute. BUT it just wasn’t the look they were going for. They had envisioned a romantic boho ceremony with heavy candle light and your typical boho colors. They really struggled with being able to envision it flipped. I knew it was possible though and we immediately got to work with brainstorming!

The plan was to completely gut out the restaurant, bring in new furniture/rentals, and design the hell outta it. We used our custom wood farm tables and crossback chairs to offer more consistency and then went all out with the tablescape. The trickiest part of the day definitely was the amount of work we had to jam pack into it though. My rental team started by gutting the space, putting the furniture out in the parking lot, unloaded the rentals into the space, and then loaded the restaurant’s tables/chairs into the truck. THEN, we had to set everything, design, coordinate the wedding, AND reverse the entire setup by getting everything back to how it was at the end of the night. While I definitely don’t recommend this… it turned out absolutely stunning and was one of our favorite designs by far.

Hayley and Tyler were the sweetest couple and you could just tell how in love they were. Everyone had a blast and the entire vendor team was amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a smoother day with what we had to tackle. The planning process wasn’t always smooth just because of the 2020 chaos but we did love planning with them and are so happy with how it turned out. When you have a solid vendor team and an incredibly sweet couple, anything is possible!
